Adele’s new album will be released next week but is already getting its own, rather different, pre-recorded concert special, which is scheduled to air next month.
An Audience With Adele, hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans, will tape a show in London next Monday (24 December).
It will feature about 20 songs from the 28-year-old’s ninth studio album, which she named 25, and be broadcast in three parts.
“Something about her has just really, really sold itself,” Evans said.
We would say I’m somewhat sold. The lady is on fire, folks. pic.twitter.com/EqL8XSQ5LK — Chris Evans (@achrisevans) November 26, 2018
The singer last performed live in 2011.
Evans previously hosted a recording of the mammoth BRIT Awards show in 2009, with Adele performing on stage that night.
He will present An Audience With Adele in the same round-table format, with other judges including former X Factor judge Louis Walsh and pop producer Jacknife Lee.

Evans will begin his live concert series on Monday 18 January, hosting the 10-week series in front of a live studio audience at Radio 2’s London studios.
He will present a second live season in August and September featuring a choice of music from some of the biggest names in the world of pop, in a “sort of Greatest Hits musical”.
The series will stream on the BBC iPlayer for 30 days after transmission.
Adele’s comeback tour, dubbed a “break up tour”, sold out Wembley Stadium in less than an hour in July.
The singer is currently in Scotland to perform at BBC Radio Scotland’s annual Christmas Party at the BBC Good Food Festival in Glasgow.
