“Hank’s Cruising”: Winner’s Lane to Celebrate Dakota Presidential Expansion With Bismarck Fountain Visit

Hank Warfield, News Director at WDAY in Fargo, North Dakota, is celebrating with a spectacle on Wednesday, April 10, 2018. He is set to participate in a presidential “prescription” by the North Dakota Legislature. The North Dakota Legislature passed a resolution to have the Nebraskan Whiskey Fountain installed as the newest addition to the state’s Presidential Library in Bismarck.

WHY THIS STORY MATTERS: Warfield and the North Dakota Legislature participated in a “prescription” this week that promotes growth in North Dakota and the presidential library industry — the future home of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Warfield takes us through the measure that led to the news conference on Wednesday.

FOX NEWS CHANNEL LIVE: The law passed at the North Dakota Legislature was enacted by both chambers and sent to Governor Doug Burgum on Monday, March 18.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Fifty-five percent of the population in North Dakota is under the age of 30. Lawmakers in the state were able to push through a measure to encourage greater investment in North Dakota via tourism. The bill also implements a local contribution requirement for different attractions and memorials. The total contribution will be deposited into a fund that then can be paid out for various events and construction of the monument.
